My Thank You to Ajani

Today I was given the task of saying thank you to anyone who would help me complete a daily activity at home.

I asked my big brother Ajani to help me exercise. This is how my workout went.

Filling my sister bucket: Sharing my favourite soft toy

Moo Moo is my favourite soft toy and I wanted to share her with my sister Genevieve. 

I hope they enjoy their sleep zzzzzz 

Online Learning Term 4: Math

For math we practiced skip counting in 5’s

Term 4 Literacy

Today was the first day of Term 4. I was very happy to see my teachers and friends again. For reading we had to practice our letter F and find words that begin with the letter F.

Home learning: Day 33 - Last day of term 3

Me and my sister missed being at school so much that we decided to attend the team meet in our school uniform.

Mum and Dad also wanted us to finish it off properly so we did some writing to finish off the term. 

The taste challenge

Today’s experiment required us to use only our sense of taste.

The goal was to identify the difference between 4 fruit and 1 vegetable.

• Apple
• Pear
• Peach
• Nectarine 
• Potato

Me and my siblings had to wear blind folds and cover our nosies when tasting the fruit or vegetable.

The results 

Me, Evangeline and Jahzara got a few wrong and Ajani and Genevieve got them all correct. 

I was able to get 3 out of the 5 tasters correct. I found it hard to identify which fruit was what but I could definitely tell which one was the potato. 

       

I want to do this experiment again so next time I can get them all correct.

Weekend science experiment

Today I wanted to try the baking soda and vinegar volcano experiment.

• Making the volcano.

My Dad made a template for me to cut out of cardboard. I traced the template to make many pieces to complete my volcano.

    

I used an old bottle to help form my volcano and Dad held it tight while I taped it together to keep its shape.

     

Once we had the shape I was able to paint it to look like a real volcano.

     

Now all the hard work was done it was time for the fun part!

Home learning - Day: 19

These are my tasks for today.

First I listened to the disgusting sandwich story and I answered the questions for it. This is my work.

After I practiced writing my D‘s and also I wrote words that started with the letter D

I finished my learning with drawing my disgusting sandwich. Here is my picture. I really like drawing.

Pizza party

On Sunday me and my sister made a big pizza. Me and my sister kneaded the pizza dough and then squashed it into the tray. We put cheese, ham, sausages, onion and tomato paste on the pizza. After me and my sister put the toppings on we put it in the oven. After it finished cooking we ate it. We had a fun time making it and it was very yummy!

Today my mum made us some math problems for our home learning.

Tongan language week

It’s the last day for Tongan language week so my Dad got up really early and got me and my sister Gene dressed in our Tongan outfits for today’s class meet.

   

My Dad is Tongan, my Papa comes from Ha’ateiho and my Nana comes from Foa and Havelu.

The best thing about my culture is the food. Lu sipi is my favourite Tongan food to eat.

Today for home learning my Dad asked me to try and spell the below words. 

I tried my hardest to do the correct spelling but only got one right. After sounding the words out with my Dad the second time, I was able to get the rest of them right.

Story time: The rainbow fish 

Today I listened to a story called The rainbow fish.

Happy Father’s Day!

To start off our Father’s Day Sunday me, my sister Genevieve and Mum and Dad went for a walk around the Panmure basin.

We made sure to wear our mask and keep 2 meters away from people who passed us while walking.

We also stopped to look at the crabs under the water.

After dinner our whole family went for a drive to the beach to collect shells.

To finish the day my mum is making Dad a Father’s Day cake.

Fried banana

My big sister Jahzara helped me make fried banana. We used icing sugar on top. We used ice cream as well. I liked putting the banana in the bread crumbs. It was very yummy!

This is a measuring tape. My Dad helped me find it in the cupboard.

Helping my family 

I helped Dad with the washing and I helped my Mum do the vacuuming.
